Conference Speaker Bios 

Gene Padgitt is a 35-year veteran chimney technician and a master mason. He is the V.P. of HearthMasters, Inc. restoration company, co-owner of HearthMaters Education, and co-owner of Three Trails Cottages real estate investment company and the Ginger Rogers House Museum.  

Padgitt has been a Certified Heater Mason by the Masonry Heater Association of North America since 2003, a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep since 1990, has a degree in HVACR Technology from Vatterott and Sullivan, is an NFI Certified Gas Specialist, a Private State Certified Fire Investigator, and a Licensed Master Mechanical Contractor in all jurisdictions in the greater Kansas City area.

Gary Hart

Gary is a retired chimney technician and mason, with many years of experience in the industry at his company Aarons Chimney Service in High Ridge, Missouri.  Gary is a Certified Heater Mason by the Masonry Heater Association of North America, and ex-CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep. He is now retired from the business but teaches when asked. 

Gary has taught several classes for the MCSC in the past and has served on the BOD for the Midwest Chimney Safety Council and Masonry Heater Association.

Gregg Boss

English Sweep

St. Louis, Missouri

Gregg Boss is a veteran chimney sweep and chimney technician who owns and manages English Sweep in St. Louis, Missouri. He is CSIA Certified and currently serves on the board of directors for the NCSG.  Gregg is married to Best friend, Camille. Gregg has four adult children with one still in college. He has been involved in scouting for 40 years and is in the bowling hall of frame for a 300 game. Gregg started working for English Sweep in 1983 and purchased the business in October 5 1985.  He joined the NCSG in 1988, got CSIA certified 1988, has been a mason since 1989, is C-Det certified, served as past president and treasurer for the Missouri chimney sweep guild, currently is an At large NCSG board member, is Missouri’s first Master Sweep, and has taught classes for the MCSC and NCSG.

Dennis Dobbs

Olympia Chimney Supply

Dennis has worked for 36 years as an active chimney sweep and for 25 years as a hearth retailer installing wood and gas stoves, fireplaces, inserts, chimneys, and vents. Dennis is from Fort Payne, Alabama. He is Gas licensed. He is the President of the Southern Assicatui if Chimney Professionals. Dennis has been CSIA Certified since 1989 and is a CSIA Mastersweep #2, Former NCSG Board Member and TAC Chairman. He sold his business in 2017 and is now the technical advisor for Olympia Chimney Supply
